The Phong Nha Ke Bang National Park Region Project

 

The Nature Conservation & Sustainable Natural Resource Management in Phong Nha – Ke Bang Region, Vietnam (Phong Nha - Ke Bang National Park Region Project) aims to improve the management of Phong Nha – Ke Bang NP and reduce the pressure on its natural resources. The Project is cooperation between Quang Binh PPC and Germany. The project owner is the Provincial People Committee (PPC) of Quang Binh province. It is funded through the German development bank KfW (Financial Cooperation) and GIZ (Technical Cooperation). GIZ’s responsibility is mainly in Technical Cooperation, leading buffer zone and tourism planning. KfW’s responsibility is largely investment, complementing and scaling up GIZ’s pilot projects and plans, in addition to leading the development of a management plan for PNKB NP, investments in park infrastructure, equipment, LE training, etc., and complementary technical assistance to improve management, in particular law enforcement.
The Phong Nha - Ke Bang NP Region Project provided finacial suport for CeREC to carry out faunal investigation in Phong Nha - Ke Bang NP; Status assessment of Laotian Rock Rat Population in Phong Nha - Ke Bang area and Compilation of Book on biodiversity of Phong Nha - Ke Bang and Hin Nam No.
